FAQs

Can I use a normal garden sprayer to apply the concrete sealer?

No, the viscosity and chemicals within the concrete sealers will soon lead to a normal garden sprayer being unable to function.

Can the concrete sealer be used on garden walls?

Yes, any external concrete based product or surface will benefit from the protection given by application of concrete sealer.

Do the concrete sealers smell and give off fumes?

Yes, due to the acrylic resins and solvents within the materials the smell is quite prominent during the application process. We would advise wearing adequate safety wear at all times.

Does the surface have to be dry before concrete sealer can be applied?

Yes, application to damp or wet surfaces will lead to a white residue appearing and will minimise the benefits of applying the sealer.

How often does the concrete sealer need to be re-applied?

Every surface is different, with external areas needing more regular re-coating than internal or lightly used areas. For most surfaces re-application of the concrete sealer would be recommended every 2-5 years.

Once ordered how long before my products arrive?

Our standard delivery time is 2-3 days. If you require the products sooner, please get in touch.

Once the drum has been opened, how long will the product last?

Once opened it is best to use the contents within 12 months.

What is the best method of application?

The most effective method would be by a suitable sprayer unit or roller kit, for smaller areas a large brush is fine.

Will the concrete sealer change the surface colour?

Yes, it will make the surface look the same as when it is damp. The best way to access how the surface will look when sealed is to pour some water on it and leave for 10 minutes. This will then give you a very good indication of how it will look once sealed.

Will the concrete sealer protect a garage floor?

Yes, the concrete sealer will seal and protect a concrete floor, but due to the nature of the material make sure the area is well ventilated during the drying process.

Will the driveway sealer inhibit weed growth?

Yes , the sealer will harden the jointing sand which will inhibit weed growth. To completely eliminate weed growth regular re-applications and sweeping of the joints will be required.
